Laywer? But why?

Last week I posted something about wanting to be a lawyer and I got a lot of questions about what kind of lawyer I would like to be and why have I chosen that exact job. First off I would like to start with that I am well aware of the fact that it's gonna be very tough for me to be a lawyer and it would take a lot of studying and hard work. Ever since I was a little kid I have loved arguing and defending people so I think that is exactly why I have chosen to want to be a lawyer. When it comes to what kind of lawyer , I am not completely set on what I want to do yet but I believe I am interesting in doing something like a public deffender or a judge. I have chosen that because I have always been very dissapointed by rich people who have done something wrong and get a lawyer to cover for them and usually win the case , I would like to help and protect people. But I dont just want to be a lawyer for the money so I would like to be an honest lawyer that doesnt cover for someones mistakes just because they happen to have money!

  1. That is great. It is also my goal to a lawyer. Mine will be in the area of international law. If there was a possibility to be on the UN Legal Council, there is no was that I would turn that down. When I had first decided to be a lawyer, I thought I wanted to do criminal law, but working with the DA's office, but I think I would rather have a bigger impact than local. I know Harvard Law School gives a discount or even pay for your last year if you decide to practice in the DA's office, but I am not sure which one it is. I would look into it. Good luck in your endeavors!

  2. of course, if you want to change the world, you have to change a lot of our ethics and customs which allow for things like rich people being able to buy themselves out of trouble. How is it that you think you can help change that in your chosen profession?
